"But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead."
Philippians 3:13b
Are living in the past, reliving the events of old? Complaining about what did, didn’t or should have happened? Well here is the cold hard facts about the past...IT’S OVER, YOU CAN’T CHANGE IT, SO MOVE ON!
It’s true, we all want to feel sorry for ourselves sometimes and that’s normal. What we can’t do is stay in this state of selfishness. Yes, selfishness! Christ has promised us a bountiful life, he is our provider and our strength. When we feel sorry for ourselves, we are showing that we lack faith in HIM to provide!
If you want the life you are complaining that you don’t have, then Move, Go and Reach for it! We are blessed to have new "day’s" everyday. Christ’s’ death has given us a new start. This doesn’t give us the opportunity to repeat mistakes (sins), but rather to learn from them and move on. Notice a theme yet, MOVE ON!
We all have done things that we are ashamed of. More likely than not you are dealing with the tension of what you want to be or do and what you’ve already done. But if you know Christ, your hope is in Him for tomorrow. Let go of your past, your guilt, and grow in the knowledge of God. How do you not return to that place of shame? By concentrating on your personal relationship with Christ.
Realize this; you are forgiven THEN move on to a life of faith and obedience. Your relationship with Christ requires work, time and energy. Life doesn’t happen, it takes work. Work requires action. Action requires MOVEMENT. Move for God and your shame and selfishness will fade.
Let this be your prayer today:
Dear Lord, I look to you for life for direction. I don’t want to live in my past, I claim your victory in my life and future circumstances. Open and close the doors, and I will be faithful to walk through. I want to go where you are going, move where you move and work where you are working. Thank you for your love and direction in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Payday doesn’t happen until you show up and do the work! Are you willing?
In Him, "E"
