Shine your light!

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galations 6:9

You’re a nice person, but the people around you aren’t. You do nice things, no one seems to care. You give, they just take. Do you ever just want to stop being nice and doing "nice" things? Of course you do. We all get tired of being stepped on, pushed down and shut down. For some of you it takes a few hours, others months, before becoming weary.

The people on this earth are in darkness without Christ. In the darkness lives hatred, fear and sadness. These three things, along with many others, are why people act in the manner they do. They are searching for the satisfaction that only Christ can bring. When the world around us is in the dark, should we expect anything less? No. We are the light, coming to bring the light and life of Christ to the darkness. The Lord has promised us victory in the end. Victory for us, an eternity with Him...and Victory for Him, reign over the Earth. The problem is that we do not know His time frame, "the proper time."

So even though you may become weary doing good, keep shining your light in this darkness. Think of the farmer in the fields: He waits for the perfect amount of time to pass and the perfect amount of sun to hit his crops, before he reaps the harvest.

We are tending our Father’s crops. We are His helpers. He decides the amount of time and how much sun to allow to hit His crops. At the proper time he will tell us when to begin the reaping. Until then, we wait, we tend the fields, we fertilize, we love!

Let this be your prayer today:
Dear Lord, I often become weary as I tend your fields. I desire to reap the harvest, but acknowledge that I must wait on your proper time. Grant me the strength not to give up, pushing towards the victory that you have promised. Let the light you have placed in me shine, touching your children, your precious crop whom you love. Persistent to love, persistent to give, persistent in passion...let this be my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
True love is seen in persistence. Keep doing His good for others. The harvest will come, but without your light the fields will die!

In Him, "E"
