It's NOT all good!
By Erik Farstad
"Through the blessings of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed." Proverbs 11:11
Sometimes I get real fired up! Whether I’m listening to the news on the radio or watching the latest political scandal in the White House on CNN, I realize it’s more important than ever that the United States of America seeks God for healing! I’m tired of the world being tolerant of killing babies, by calling it choice. I’m tired of the world being tolerant of deceit, by calling it politically necessary. I’m tired of the world being tolerant of perversion, by calling it freedom. I’m steaming and fuming at the world being tolerant of these things, while at the same time calling someone intolerant who stands up against them (The word hypocrite comes to mind)!
For years I’ve had a little saying when people asked me how I was doing. I’d say, "It’s all good!" But it really isn’t. We are spinning down a cesspool spiral and we need to be rescued before we drown in our own stench. The problem is that there is no standard anymore for what is right and what is wrong. If you stand up for the moral standard, the one that God has created for us to follow, and say it is the only truth you will be shot down. If you call sin a sin and not a misleading gesture, you will be labeled as intolerant. We live in a world where everything, depending on how it is spun, is O.K. How sad!
The media and the political spin-doctors feed us what they want us to see and hear. If they say "this or that" is what the general population thinks or believes, people will follow suit and start to believe that way also. Then the next week the story changes and so does the truth. This process of brainwashing is brilliant. Confuse the people so much by not having a standard or a real truth, and then eventually you will be able to get away with anything. Do you see the danger? I hope you do. Now let me take you back in time about 2000 years.
There was a man who 2000 years ago stood up for one real truth. He shared His message to thousands and many followed wherever He went. The leaders of that time called Him names, they said He was just a fanatic. They believed His views and message would die away, it wasn’t for the people they said. People are happy under our laws, they proudly proclaimed. The leaders firmly believed that He could not be the truth, way and life to follow. Or could He be?
It’s time to continue the work that began 2000 years ago. He set the standard and He is the leader of truth, He is Jesus Christ. It’s time to stand up and speak your mind, to share the same message He shared 2000 years ago. Let your actions be seen and your voice heard! Talk to your friends, talk to your family and share your beliefs at work. Exercise your most precious right and vote! Most importantly pray for God to heal our land, to bring about a cleansing. In a world where there is no wrong, this is the right thing to do! I told you I get fired up.
Oh, and if you’re worried about being called intolerant if you stand up for morals based on Christian principals and truths, just take it as a compliment Jesus was called intolerant too!
In Christ, Erik
