Too Many Rules

Where have You gone wrong Oh God,
What caused this all our strife,
What ere became of peace on earth,
That promise of good life.

The world was ours to use You said,
To love, (though we chose hate),
I guess a few do try to live,
The way Your laws dictate.

We want our way, you see, not Your's,
So please just let us be,
Just leave us to our sinful ways,
It's fun we seek, not Thee.

Just because we care the least,
For You and all Your rules,
Is not just cause for You to let,
This world be run by fools.

We care the least for what is right,
We only care for self,
The ways of greed are for our good,
Who seek the greatest wealth.

So let us gain at kins expense,
Stop making life so cruel,
Our will not yours is what we want,
So please -- rewrite the rules.
