Saul
By Gerald Sumeracki
Saul was schooled in God's Old Law
A Pharasee was he
He'd heard of Christ and what He taught
And judged Him enemy.
The rulers of the Jewish Law
Did send Saul on a search
To find believers of the Christ
Saul vowed to crush His church.
He heard some joiners of the Way
To Damascus town did go
So journeyed he to find them there
To jail these rebel foes.
As he approached his distant goal
A power from on high
Did strike him to the Earth in fear
As brilliance filled the sky.
The voice of Christ than came to him
"Why do you hate The Way?"
"Who are you Lord?" Saul asked the voice
As in the dust he lay.
"I am the Jesus that you hate
"The one who rose to life!"
"What would you have me do my Lord?"
Asked Saul in blinded strife.
"To serve me in the Gentile world"
The Lord did ask of Saul
"And from this day in newborn life
"Your new name shall be Paul."
And so this re-born man in Christ
Went forth to shake the earth
He taught inspired by God on high
So we could find rebirth.
For only through the Way of God
Can man be saved fron sin
Yes Paul's salvation can be ours
Through Jesus all can win.
