The Stranger
By Gerald Sumeracki
I had reached the bottom, my soul was without form,
It was void.
Depression and fear filled my conscious being.
A glimmer of God's life
Was all that was left of the promise I had squandered.
Then one day a man, stranger to me,
Smiled and said "Jesus loves you!"
My soul filled with renewed hope.
"Someone did care" I mused.
The stranger smiled
And I confessed my emptiness to him.
We prayed together and a warmth filled
my being.
The Spirit of God came alive in me
And brought me new Light!
Love is renewed.
Thank you dear Jesus
for sending me that caring stranger.
I live again.
