LORD of Hosts
1 The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.
Selah.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory.
Selah.
Psalm 24

Isaiah 53

1Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Isaiah 53 (KJV)

...and with his stripes we are healed...

God bless you,
Job

Wuhan China Virus

3/19/20

We are all praying for those throughout the world that are dealing with the "Chinese Wuhan Virus", sometimes called the "COVID-19 Virus", or the "Novel Corona Virus". Regardless of the name, this virus has led to worldwide suffering and disruption on a scale not seen in most people's lifetime. Lord willing, we will be able to avoid a large epidemic and keep it contained (unlike the massive Spanish flu of 1918.)

The China Supply Chain

The recent threats from China to terminate shipments of critical drug making supplies should be a wake-up call... to reduce our reliance on unreliable countries like China (especially for critical products and services). The threats from China are for things that were originally Made in the USA (until we completely offshored that capability to China).

I spent a large portion of my career working in logistics, and it has been clear for decades that the USA has been mismanaging the supply chain for known strategic assets. It is time to end our reliance on unreliable and corrupt "trading partners" that absolutely hate the USA (lots of countries in that group).

"Made in China" indeed!

Praying for a rapid cure,
Job

Merry Christmas!

12/25/19

Luke 2:1-20

1And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
18And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
Luke 2:1-20 (KJV)

We would like to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas. Christmas day is the day we honor the birth of our Saviour, Christ Jesus, Who was born of a virgin over 2000 years ago. As we look at a world that is increasingly under attack from the enemy, we can take comfort in the fact that the battle was won thousands of years ago, when God sent us His only begotten Son, in a manger. As we gather together with friends and family this year, remember to tell those around you about the reasons why we celebrate this holiday.

Happy New Year too!

We have been running this site for almost 24 years, and Lord willing we will run it for years to come (or until He comes, or comes for me!) Along the way we have been through a number of challenges, and have broken our fair share of links and other parts of the site. This last year (ok, year++) has been a hard year. There were big changes in the home life as we moved our home to Idaho, and during that move we certainly broke "more than our share" of things.

In the last few years there has been considerable controversy over the tracking of personal information on the net. For many years we allowed users to contact each other in the prayer section of the site, using encoded contact information. In the past, we allowed users (it was never required) to enter an email address for response to their prayer post.

Given the controversy over tracking of personal information, we decided to totally remove contact information from the prayer posts (and from the server). We would love to hear from people in the prayer/praise section, but no longer ask for email information (as a precaution). The Lord always knows the heart of the posters. We will continue to use cookies for site operations, but users are always able to disable cookies, and no personal information is stored in the cookies.

We have also moved parts of the site to a cloud-based version (Cloudflare), which should allow us to reach parts of the world that are known for electronic attacks over the net (hacking, cracking the server, denial of service attacks, etc..., we get "more than our share" of attacks). We hope to add additional content to the cloud-based version of the site this year, and keep it up to date.

Have a very Merry Christmas,
Job

"Fight for Freedom, Stand with Hong Kong"

10/9/19

The above was a direct quote from NBA Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey on 10/7/19 (via twitter). We totally agree with this brilliant comment from Daryl Morey.

Perhaps we should add another comment: China needs to stop the massive persecution of the Christian Church.

The Tomb is Empty!

4/21/19

Praise God, He is risen!

John 20:1-9

1The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
2Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
3Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
4So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
5And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.
6Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
7And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
8Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
John 20:1-9 (KJV)

Merry Christmas!

12/24/18

and thank you LORD for sending Your Son as our Saviour! We pray Father that as we go through troubled times and division in this world, that You bring us together as a united Body in Christ. This season is about God's love for us, His creation. Help us to love each other Lord as You love us.

This has been a busy year on our website, and in the next few days we will describe some of the recent changes, and plans for the site in 2019... but for now I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas!

God bless you,

Psalms 122:6
(Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, Ps. 122:6)

He is Risen!

3/26/18

This week we celebrate the Resurrection, and our Bible Verse of the Day will focus on the core gospel that Jesus died for our sins, and rose again on the third day in victory over death. Like before we will post the daily verse below in highlight, surrounded by some of the context for the daily verse. We hope you will be blessed by His Word, and use this holiday as an opportunity to witness to others.

Matthew 20:17-23, (daily verse, Matthew 20:17-19 on 3/26/18)

17And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
18Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
19And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
20Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
21And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
22But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
23And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
Matthew 20:17-23 (KJV)

John 11:21-27, (daily verse, John 11:25-26 on 3/27/18)

21Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
23Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
John 11:21-27 (KJV)

John 14:1-14, (daily verse, John 14:5-6 on 3/28/18)

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 14:1-14 (KJV)

John 3:1-21, (daily verse, John 3:16=17 on 3/29/18)

1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 3:1-21 (KJV)

Luke 23:44-49, (daily verse, Luke 23:44-46 on 3/30/18)

44And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
45And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
47Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
48And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
49And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
Luke 23:44-49 (KJV)

1 cor 15:20-26, (daily verse, 1 cor 15:20 on 3/31/18)

20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1 cor 15:20-26 (KJV)

Matthew 28:1-7, (daily verse, Matthew 28:5-6 on 4/1/18)

1In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
Matthew 28:1-7 (KJV)

Praise God, He is risen,
Job

Merry Christmas!

12/22/17

..."And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us"...

Every week we put up a collection of short daily verses (called the Bible Verse of the Day) which can be embedded in other websites. One of the challenges is finding a *short* verse that can stand alone and be a blessing to others. We try to keep it short, typically 3 verses max, so that it can be easily installed on other websites. During Christmas we generally have Messianic verses and other passages associated with the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This year we decided to post some of the extended context surrounding the posted daily verses, with the daily verse highlighted in bold. We hope you will be blessed by the context of the daily verses!

Isaiah 11:1-10, (daily verse, Isaiah 11:1-2 on 12/18/17)

1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
   2And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Isaiah 11:1-10 (KJV)

Micah 5:1-4, (daily verse, Micah 5:2 on 12/19/17)

1Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
2But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
3Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
4And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
Micah 5:1-4 (KJV)

Galatians 4:1-7, (daily verse, Galatians 4:4-5 on 12/20/17)

   1Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Galatians 4:1-7 (KJV)

John 1:1-18, (daily verse, John 1:14 on 12/21/17)

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
John 1:1-18 (KJV)

Luke 1:26-38, (daily verse, Luke 1:30-31 on 12/22/17)

26And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
28And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
34Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
36And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Luke 1:26-38 (KJV)

Isaiah 9:1-7, (daily verse, Isaiah 9:6-7 on 12/23/17)

1Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
3Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
5For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 9:1-7 (KJV)

Isaiah 7:10-16, (daily verse, Isaiah 7:14 on 12/24/17)

10Moreover the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying,
11Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.
12But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.
13And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
15Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
Isaiah 7:10-16 (KJV)

Luke 2:1-20, (daily verse, Luke 2:10-11 on 12/25/17)

October 31: Reformation Day!

Celebrating 500 Years of Protestant Faith

10/31/17

Today is the 500 year anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. On Oct. 31, 1517, Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the door of the castle church at Wittenberg, giving birth to Protestantism and the split with the Catholic Church. This split over serious doctrinal matters persists to this day, as it should, since we are not called to unity in error. We are however called to love, and to share the gospel, so make a point of sharing the gospel with those who reject the authority of scripture, and the simple message of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 1:17 (KJV)

Hurricane Harvey

8/28/17

Father, we would like to lift up in prayer the people in Texas that are dealing with hurricane Harvey. Help us Father to support those in need, and comfort those that have lost their homes... and more. Give strength to all of those helping those in need, and bless them for being a blessing to others. We ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

There are many good charitable organizations that help in times like these, and of course the usual wolves among the sheep that show up during tragedy. I would like to make a no-connections (*other than Jesus) recommendation that charitable donations for hurricane relief be made to Samaritan's Purse... www.samaritanspurse.org . They have a "Donate" button, and you can select the "hurricane Harvey" category, or other category as the Lord leads you.

God bless you, and thank you for being a blessing to others,

Mark 16:1-13

1And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
3And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
7But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
8And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.
9Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
10And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
11And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
12After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
13And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.

Merry Christmas

12/21/16

Matthew 1

1The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
3And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
4And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
5And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
6And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
7And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
8And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
9And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
10And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
11And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
13And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
14And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
15And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
16And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.
Matthew 1 (KJV)

As a reminder, the best gift you can give anybody, at any time, is to share the gospel with them. This Christmas make it a point to share the Word of God with others, and to let them know that there is one and only one way to salvation - and that is through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Blessings, and Merry Christmas,
Job

Bornagain.com Email Ending 11/15/16

10/15/16

It has been a real blessing to offer FREE email at Bornagain.com for over 15 years. This Free service has been offered through www.Everyone.net. Everyone.net has decided that it will discontinue ALL free email on November 15, 2016. They have indicated that they will continue to offer PAID email service after that date. This decision was made solely by Everyone.net, with no input from Bornagain.com. We have always indicated that this was a FREE email service, and that our desire was to keep it as a free service. Everyone.net has the right to terminate Free service, but does not have the right to offer PAID service under the domain Bornagain.com since they do not own Bornagain.com.

The notice from Everyone.net was given on extremely short notice, so we apologize for not giving more notice to our free email users. Here is a link to the notice on Everyone.net:

Notice of Email Service Termination from Everyone.net (original URL: everyone.net/main/scripts/status.php)

The contents of the message from Everyone.net is also given below, since the "status message" from Everyone.net will go away at some point.
EVERYONE.NET CHANGE OF PUBLISHER MAIL SERVICE Everyone.net will be ending access for free email accounts to the Publisher Mail (formerly Sponsored Mail) service on Tuesday, November 15th 2016. Subscribers to Mail Plus Total Protection will continue to have access and will not be impacted. Free Publisher Mail users will be given the option to subscribe to Mail Plus Total Protection to continue using their email service. *2GB mail storage
*Advertisement-free web mail
*POP, IMAP, SMTP, and mobile access
*one_mobile service to sync email, calendar, and contacts
*Email-based technical support

This change is part of our ongoing efforts to reduce email abuse and improve security. Thank you for choosing Everyone.net.

The mail service provider, Everyone.net, has offered this free service (supported by ads) for many years, with a large number of domain owners (like Bornagain.com) also having their free service terminated on Nov. 15, 2016. On Nov. 16, 2016 ALL mail services will cease, and our DNS server that links the Bornagain.com domain name to the email service will end. There will be NO transition to paid service at Everyone.net. We sincerely apologize for this action on very short notice taken by Everyone.net, but have no control over the matter.

Thank you for letting us serve you at Bornagain.com, and hope it was a blessing to you and others with whom you correspond. We currently have no plans for Bornagain.com (it caught us by surprise too), but will probably develop the domain in other ways, and welcome your suggestions.

He is Alive - The Resurrection

3/27/16

To celebrate the resurrection this year we present the famous "gospel" section from 1 Corinthians 15. We would like to encourage you to click on one of the "resurrection" links (they all link to the same page). The bodily resurrection is central to our faith, so take some time to read and study the sample verses that deal with the resurrection, and then click on some of the detailed study links to grow in your faith and walk with the Lord!

Study Word:

Resurrection

1 Corinthians 15:1-58

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:1-58 (KJV)

Banners, Sponsors, and Links...

Some of the rotating banner ads, links, webrings, newsfeeds and other material are beyond our control. We do not necessarily agree with the viewpoints, doctrine, theology, politics, content, mood, sense of humor, food preference, or shoe size of some of the links, publishers, and materials published on this site.

We hope and pray that you enjoyed your visit. If you are looking for a next step in life, we would like to suggest finding a good local Bible believing Church. There is probably a Church in your neighborhood, and a good Church in your extended neighborhood. Your next step is to "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:15) You do this by reading God's Word, the Bible, and getting together on a regular basis with other believers in the Church, which is the Body of Christ.

Welcome to the "cloud" version of our website. This is new, so some features may be disabled, and we have probably broken a few links along the way. This is a "static" section, which means no interactive content (like posting prayer messages, although you can read and pray for the posted prayers, and we hope you do).

Most of our content at www.Christ.com has been copied to "cloud versions" of the site, like "www.Lordofhosts.net". The cloud sites can also be reached by entering URL strings like "cloud.Christ.com", and "www.Christ.com/cloud" into your browser. God bless you, and thanks for visiting and helping us spread the Word!
